England's highest partnership in the T20 World Cup

England is undoubtedly one of the top teams when it comes to white-ball cricket. They have some big power hitters in their squad both in T20Is and ODIs. Specifically, England won the T20 World Cup in 2010. With this victory, England became the first non-Asian team to win the T20 World Cup title.

They defeated their Ash opponents Australia in the final and won by seven wickets. Despite losing to the West Indies, they won their next five matches at the start of the 2010 season. In this article, we will discuss the highest partnership with England in T20 World Cup history.

4. Kevin Pietersen and Craig Kesswetter scored 111 against Australia in 2010

England has always been blessed with some explosive batsmen at the top of the order. Their third-highest partnership came in the 2010 World Cup campaign. It was the 2010 World Cup final against Australia. Batting first, the men in yellow scored 147/6 in their 20 overs. David Hussey led the way with 59 steals and 54 steals.

The target was not a big one for England, who had a series of back-to-back victories. That's what happened in the end, with England chasing down the target in 17 overs with seven wickets in hand. The chase became easy when Craig Kieswetter and Kevin Pietersen put on a 111-run partnership for the second wicket. Kieswetter scored 63 runs while Pietersen scored 47 runs. England won the match and won their first T20 title.

3. Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan (112 runs) against Sri Lanka in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

It was the 29th match of the 2021 World Cup between England and Sri Lanka in Sharjah. After winning the toss, Sri Lanka chose to bowl first. England lost their first two wickets early, but then Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan played cautiously and added a 112-run partnership for the third wicket. Butler scored his first World Cup centre.

He scored an unbeaten 101* off 67 balls and Morgan's 40 off 36 balls. England scored 163/4 in their 20 overs. Chasing the target, Sri Lanka also kept losing wickets. Four to five shots were fired, but could not last long. In the end, Sri Lanka lost by 137 runs and lost the match by 26 runs.

2. Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan (152 runs) against Sri Lanka in the 2014 ICC tournament.

The second-highest partnership for England was in the 2014 World Cup match against Sri Lanka. When the toss took place, England won the toss. After winning the toss, England decided to bowl instead of batting first. Sri Lanka had a partnership of 144 runs between Dilsan and Jayawardene for a competitive total of 189/4. Dilshan scored 55 runs while Jayawardene made 89 off 51 balls.

Chasing the target, England got off to a terrible start, losing their first two wickets in the first game. But then Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan played brilliantly and added 152 runs for the third wicket to help England chase down the target with six wickets in hand. Hales scored a fantastic century and remained unbeaten on 116* from 64 balls, while Morgan scored 57 from 38 balls.

1. Jos Buttler and Alex Hales (170 runs) against India in World T20 2022.

It took 8 years to break their previous best T20 World Cup partnership. Alex Hales was also there then. Jos Buttler and Alex Hales put on a 170* run partnership to take their team to the T20 final of the 2022 World Cup.
