Pathirana injured to return to Sri Lanka

Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow due to the injury of Sri Lankan pacer Mathis Pathiran.

"Chennai Super Kings pacer Matheesha Pathirana is nursing a hamstring injury and will return to Sri Lanka to continue his recovery," CSK said in a media release.

Pathirana was CSK's standout bowler throughout the tournament, picking up 13 wickets at an A/R of 7.68.

Adding to CSK's woes, Deepak Chahar has also suffered a serious injury that will rule him out for the season.

CSK have had an average season so far and are currently fifth in the points table.
