Highest 10th wicket partnership in T20 World Cup

T20 World Cup: Nowadays, even bowlers can hit the ball hard if given a chance. And it's always fun to see tailenders use their bat to hit balls in bounds. But when a team loses all 9 wickets, it is unfair to expect anything from the number 9 and 10 batsmen. But sometimes they add a few quick kicks at the end that can make all the difference. However, in a T20 World Cup match, these runs are more important.

But there aren't many 10th-wicket partnerships that have gone too far in the history of World Cup events. There are only two times when a partnership has reached the 20-run mark. So in this article, we will discuss the ten best 10th wicket partnerships in the T20 World Cup.

1. S Benn and N Miller (20 runs) vs Australia in the 2010 T20 World Cup.

The 20-run partnership was first seen in a match between West Indies and Australia in the 2010 World Cup. After winning the toss, West Indies chose to bat first, but the decision backfired on them completely. The entire lineup fell like a house of cards. They lost their nine wickets for 85 runs as Nikita Miller (10) and Sulieman Benn (9) added 20 more to reach 105 runs.

Steve Smith scored three goals for the Austrians. It was never much of a target for Australia's strong batting line-up. They reached the target in just 16.2 overs and won the match by six wickets. Brad Haddin was the top scorer for Australia with 42 runs. It was the highest 10th-wicket partnership in T20 World Cup history.

2. Jade Dernbach and Steven Finn (20 runs) vs India in the 2012 T20 World Cup.

It was the 10th match of the 2012 World Cup between India and England in Colombo. During the toss, England won the toss and offered India to bat first. India sent in Irfan Pathan to open the innings with Gambhir but it didn't work and he got out early. But after that, two good partnerships helped India reach a good total of 170/4 in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma took 55% off 33 balls and Virat (40) and Gambhir (45) also contributed.

Chasing the target, the English team collapsed completely, the only survivor being the opening batsman Craig Kieswetter. But he also fell after 35 runs. But in the end, Jade Dernbach and Steven Finn added 20 runs for the last wicket to rescue England from a humiliating defeat. In the end, India won easily by 90 runs. Harbhajan Singh was the 'man of the match' in Q12.

3. R Haq and JD Nel (18 runs) vs Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

This was the third match in the first match between Pakistan and Scotland in 2007. After winning the toss, Scotland chose to bowl first. True, Pakistan lost two wickets early, but after that, the middle order completely dominated the Scottish bowling and the 3-4 batsmen started. In the end, the men in green recovered 171/9 in 20 overs. Younis Khan scored an innings-high 41 runs.

Defending the target, Pakistan hit hard against the Scottish bat. Only opener Fraser Watts showed little fight with 46 runs. But all the other batsmen did not look comfortable. After losing nine wickets for 102, R Haq and JD Nel added 18 runs to the innings and they were all in 120 innings. Pakistan won the match by 51 runs. Shahid Afridi was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance. He has 22 (7) and 4/19 in the match.
